On August 4, 2016, Ozone Development, LLC , a real estate investment group, bought 631 Hancock Street, a brownstone which is attached to mine in Bed-Stuy.
On August 9, 2016, I received a text message from one of my tenants to say that the new property owners attached to my property were doing renovation and construction work to their property.
There is red brick dust everywhere which is coming inside our windows. They just left it a mess. Do we have a hose outside so I can clean up?
The owners painted my brownstone’s exterior wall black and drilled an iron handrail into my wall without my authorization. I also identified spray paint cans and gallon paint cans in my backyard during inspection. Later on, I received a fine from the NYC Department of Sanitation for 30 gallon bags of trash dumped in front of my property.
I also sighted a white bathtub dumped in front of my property by the owners.
The new owner, Joe Mashieh, and his associates are making a killing flipping dozens of houses in Bed-Stuy, Bushwick, and East New York. Mr. Mashieh makes no secret of this. His LinkedIn Profile advertises: WE BUY HOUSES ALL CASH. SHORT SALES, REO'S, FORECLOSURE, DISTRESSED PROPERTIES, VACANT OR NOT VACANT. CLOSING WITHIN 3-5 DAYS.
On December 19, I met with Mr. Mashieh and his associate. They agreed to pay me for the cost for repairs. But shortly later, they declined from their verbal agreement.
I hired 2 attorneys to mediate and settle with the owners, with no success.
Please sign my petition to demand that Mr. Mashieh and his associates compensate me in full for their damage to my property. I appreciate your support.
