But now #SteveandMikeSpera are now refusing to move the tenant to another affordable one-bedroom apartment after 8 years of constant flooding in her current space. Instead the Spera brothers say they will ILLEGALLY charge this family MARKET RATE TO MOVE to another apartment in a rent-stabilized building! The owners of #ABBAREALTYknowingly put the health of the tenant's 7-year daughter who has asthma, at risk by subjecting her to years of untreated mold and mildew. We demand that they honor the tenant request to move to another affordable one bedroom IMMEDIATELY

For 8 years, the tenants in apartment 1R have endured constant and massive flooding,(see video) sometimes, more than once a week in their living room. The tenants of 1R are a Black woman and her young daughter who has asthma . The flooding of course has created mold and mildew which forced this single mom to spend thousands of dollars for cleaning services and custom made furniture that can be rolled away to safety in order to NOT impact her daughter's health.
For 8 years the management of 2110 Westbury Court has refused to fix the leak and instead their employees have berated the tenant for calling 311, ignored her calls to schedule repairs for weeks, not properly clean or fix the damage created from the floods, and used racially insulting language towards her.
We SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! The Spera Brothers/Abba Realty are notorious for tenant harassment. Tenants in multiple buildings owned by Mike and Steve Spera report frequent water shutdowns that come with without warning over the weekends. Things have been so bad on Westbury Court that tenants have resorted to hoarding water just in case an unexpected water shutdowns occurs. Tenants on Westbury Court also have reported the lack of heat and hot water, living with a non-working elevator, being over-charged in rent and being forced to pay $10-15 a month for their refurbished stoves and fridges that come with their apartments and covered by their rent.
