Filmmakers Making Short Horror Film about Gentrification Needing Support

Miranda Kahn November 4, 2016

Hey B4G,

I am a Bed-Stuy-based producer and have recently launched the kickstarter campaign for a short horror film titled White Knuckle. The film is a horror-whodunit short film about a serial killer targeting the newcomers of a neighborhood undergoing gentrification. Less than a week in and we've already hit nearly $7k, but we need your help!

Our crew is mostly women, people of color, and LGBT who are eager to promote a discussion about gentrification in our communities. Our Director/Writer Xavier Coleman has edited for ESPN, OWN, Netflix, Google, etc., and has won awards at New York African Film Festival and BAM's New Voices in Black Cinema. Our film has already received support from Kelvin Harrison Jr (12 Years a Slave), and we are hoping to get many more on board this week (like Issa Rae and Spike Lee!)

If you want support us, or join our team, please follow the link. No donation is too small, and for every donation we will dedicate an hour of community service to various neighborhoods in Brooklyn. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1114714422/white-knuckle

Feel free to contact me at any time. Let's get people talking!

Warm wishes,

Miranda
