On October 31st, a beloved Crown Heights laundromat, Island Bubbles at 88 Rogers Ave was abruptly shut down by US marshals by the building owner Level 1 Management . Although, Mr. Bruce Edwards, the owner Island Bubbles was current on his rent and still had 5 years on his lease, his landlord used multiple tactics, to harass him out. Currently Mr. Edwards' is trying to gain access to the building to remove his washers and dryers from the store.

Since 2006, Island Bubbles has been fixture in the Crown Heights. Equality for Flatbush is calling a community solidarity rally at 12pm on Wednesday November 14th at 88 Rogers Ave to show support for Island Bubbles and other longtime small businesses in Crown Heights . We demand that Level 1 Management allow Mr. Edwards to gain access to the building immediately so he can move out his property with respect and dignity .
